Sky Ride

The Legend City Sky Ride was built in Switzerland by the Von Roll Manufacturing Company in 1962. The terminals of the ride were placed in the Modern Section and the Ghost Town Section on opposite sides of the park. The Sky Ride rose 80 feet above the ground in swinging gondola-type cable cars and had a capacity of 900 passengers per hour in its 28 cars. When Sam Shoen purchased and refurbished the park in 1969, the old gondola-style cars were changed out for space-age style orbs and the attraction was renamed the Satellite Ride.
