Barber shop
In its earliest incarnation, the skeleton barber was animated to be stroking a razor on a leather strap attached to the barber chair, and the newspaper reading "customer" was holding a six-shooter in his lap, to assure good service and no funny business with the razor! The barber chair would "sit-up" from its initial reclining position to reveal the customer. The original gun used was a real weapon that had been rendered harmless. It was not long before it was stolen and Dick Kraus had to fabricate a fake gun to replace it. Real guns were just too expensive to risk on souvenir hunters! Also notice that originally the skeletons were fully visible (no clothing of any kind), but this also proved to be too much temptation for some unruly visitors to the mine ride. Moving along in the car, passengers are now again taken outside in the graveyard for a short distance of about 12 feet. Once returned inside to the darkness, riders are now confronted with the "Pokie," or Sheriff's Office.
